Elle doesn't move as X approaches, nor does she look over when the other woman speaks.
But eyes still on the water, she murmurs, so low it may not even be for anyone else: "I felt you coming."
And then quite abruptly, her stance shifts; her shoulders slump, and she looks over to X, and shakes her head.
"I was waiting."
