[OOC] Character Analysis Meme
As per backroom post, comment with your character's name (past, present, or uh, future?) and I will tell you:
1) how [insert pup of your choice here]'s opinion of the named character has changed over time, or
2) why [insert pup of your choice here] does or does not get along/like/other with the named pup.
Pups:
Elle Bishop (
ellectrical)
Behrooz Araz (
kayip)
Mei Kusakabe (
wasnt_adream)
Jim Halpert (
just_a_job)
... though I think for most people only two of those have really been in enough to do this much. Ah well.
And... 'cause I'm bored, I'll also just answer any general question for any of the pups.

X and Elle!
*insatiably curious*

Ok. Right!
Well, despite their first ... not exactly nicest encounter, I'm ... not surprised Elle got over it pretty quickly? But she kind of has a short attention span, so.
Um. Organized thoughts are good, yes.
So, Elle can tell that she's like X, probably more than she's willing to admit or consciously acknowledge. She's more ... socialized, or at least somewhat attune to ... general human behavior than X is (which is, er, not saying a whole lot, but still), but also certainly lacks some of the standards that X has at least set for herself. This idea of setting rules on who and who not to kill, rather than ... just doing what you're told or what you think will get the job done, is kind of weird to Elle, and I think part of the reason she tries to inquire to X about this is that ... obviously normal people are going to tell her one thing. She doesn't think they understand. X is someone whose opinion she'd trust more (though not, at least for now, more than her own).
I think she also may, at some level, recognize that she may be at a place where X once was, and wonders what that means to her - but she's not really going to acknowledge the idea that what's been done to her is similar to X and the Facility, at least not until she learns more about her past.
X is also... probably the only person she's met so far who has a clear idea of who she is. Elle's pretty much willing to talk about her violent nature and mental instability when it comes up, but people tend to assume the best in her or underestimate her - which is pretty much part of her technique when dealing with people. Or it doesn't come up. It did immediately with X, and X made no such assumptions, pretty much going to the worst instead. Elle doesn't really care that much either way. But she is being honest when she says she won't hurt X, mainly because a) it's against the rules and b) she respects the fact that X could kill her. Theoretically. Also, she does genuinely like X, which means... if there weren't rules and the killing potential, she'd probably only zap her playfully from time to time. Really!
And... yay tl;dr. Clearly you should tell me your thoughts!

Talking to her is comfortable. Her mannerisms, her too-closeness, the way she wiped X's face and claws--they're all things X was used to in the Facility. And because Elle gives off the fellow-weapon/experiment/whatever vibe, X does not react like she would if X were a normal person approaching her so.
Because there are ways that Elle and X understand each other. This is no way means, as Elle realizes, that X would not kill her if the need arose. But--she would try to stop her through other means first. Like with the rabbits.
Because--who is X to make judgments? Past a certain point, that is.
So--X is okay with her even as she does not trust her AT ALL. Except maybe in combat.

I'd say with some certainty that Behrooz respects Lan, but isn't afraid of him. He'd probably be someone that could understand the world Behrooz lives in a lot better than some others and that's sort of ... comforting? Not exactly the right word, but that's all I can think of right now.
Uh, yeah, and that's kind of lame. Sorry >.> If you wanted to do another one , I'd... do it? Or maybe now I'm just kind of curious about River-Elle

Though I haven't seen your thoughts for Mary on Behrooz :D?

Let's see. Mary finds Behrooz interesting and frustrating both at once, because she can never seem to quite get the answers that she wants from him (and because he speaks so slowly). She knows that he's different in some way (well . . . she knows a little more now) and has interesting stories somewhere in there, and she wants to know more!
I think he also escapes being treated like Mary treats Indian servants (and treated Anthy, memorably) because - well, Behrooz doesn't act quite like anyone Mary knows, really. He's not contrary, or kind in the way she identifies with, say, the Sowerbys, or subservient; he's kind of unclassifiable, at least from her experience. Which is the other reason he's interesting to her.

Ok, so I'm guessing you've seen the first half of that Volume 3 trailer that was circling around, which included an exchange between Sylar and Elle which... pretty much gave me some relief after my initial wariness from only seeing that second half of it. But it quickly sums up her attitude toward Sylar: She's not afraid of him, both because she's crazy, and because she's crazy and a killer and doesn't care. (She's also just incredibly confident of her strength in her own ability – she manifested awfully young and has had it for at least eighteen years, while most of the other characters we see are like Peter Petrelli, off causing nuclear explosions because they tripped and fell or something.)
So when Elle talked about Sylar to others, she was a lot… less bothered about it than the people she was talking to – at most she was somewhat annoyed, and otherwise fairly neutral or even bored (though that was partly because she knew Sylar wasn't free anymore). She's perfectly willing to explain that he's a serial killer to anyone who asks because, well, he is (though, and I'm undecided on whether she knows this or not, but if she did – she'd never talk about how he used to be a watchmaker or anything before he took on the Sylar persona – it just doesn't seem at all relevant to her. She'd also never call him "Gabriel" even if it did annoy him.), and obviously she's not really cool with people in the Bar teaching him how to be more dangerous. But when it comes down to it, her only two real problems with him are:
a) It's pretty much part of her job to not like him.
b) He'd kill her and/or her father. And given the backstory Candice-mun and I decided on, she's probably not going to be too happy to see Candice dead, either.
The killing people? Elle doesn't care that much. She'd probably have more of a problem with Peter nearly blowing up a city because he couldn't control his abilities (and you know, being a moron in general in season 2.) Even in stealing others' abilities – it is a huge distinction to her that he took the abilities and wasn't born with them, particularly because hers is such a major part of her own self-identity. But at the same time, that he steals others' abilities is part of his identity to her. If that's what his ability is, or can be used for, that's it. She's not going to say he can stop or it's a choice or whatever – all it really comes down to is that if his evolutionary imperative is to kill her, hers must be to kill him first.
(Really, he should just be glad that he doesn't have to actually see her for a while, because... I would not imagine that as fun for him. Er.)
... in all fairness to my rambling, you know I'm fic writing too, SO.
